The City of Seattle is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.We are seeking candidates for an Applications Developer (IT Professional B, BU) within Seattle IT, specializing in the Power Platform, with emphasis on Dynamics365, Model-driven Power Apps, and Power Pages.Job Responsibilities
- Design and develop new solutions involving a mix of high-code and low-code technologies to solve client department customer needs, working with business systems analysts, customers and other application developers.
- Provide support for existing, supported Power Platform applications; assess, fix and resolve issues (including performance, access, accuracy issues, etc.) using the following tools:
- Model-driven and Dynamics365 apps
- Classic workflows and Power Automate flows
- HTML/Javascript Web Resources
- Power Pages Web applications
- C# for Plugins and integrations
- Provide technical analysis to identify options and to estimate work effort.
- Collaborate to build, test, deploy, and maintain new applications in the Power Platform, following standard software development lifecycle processes.
- Optimally subdivide large tasks into appropriately sized work-in-progress periods, deliver accurate estimates of those work packages, summarize the work into a dependable schedule, and monitor the work through completion.
- Competently coordinate, run, and follow up on team activities, fact finding, critical reviews, planning, and other meeting discussions.
- Participate in solution reviews and coach and mentor peers within your areas of expertise.
- Other duties as assigned commensurate with an IT Professional B level.

- Prioritize multifaceted tasks to deliver the best possible service to our client department customers.
- Work with business systems analysts and client department customers to accurately define and document application requirements.
- Assess and quickly respond to support incidents and events with a professional, analytical, and detailed approach.
- Perform system maintenance and deployment activities during non-business hours as the need arises.
QualificationsNOTE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered for the required qualifications. Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, computer technology, mathematics, or related field, or comparable qualifying experience.
- 3+ years of experience developing solutions using the Power Platform (Model-driven Apps/Dynamics 365, Power Automate, Power Pages) with emphasis on Dataverse development.
- 3+ years of experience with other development tools, including C#, ASP.Net, Javascript, and HTML
- In-depth knowledge of using Power Automate, Plugins, and Web Resources to customize applications.
- Understanding of Dataverse application architecture and design, including concepts such as security (table, row, field-level), solutions (unmanaged and managed), and environment strategy.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience developing Web applications using Power Portals/Pages, including Basic Forms, Advanced Forms, and customizing pages using HTML, Javascript, CSS, and Liquid.
- Experience in waterfall and agile development methodologies.
- Experience with source control tools such as Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Power BI.
