This position is responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining enterprise software applications that support the business needs of the department. The ideal candidate excels at converting system requirements and specifications into robust technical solutions. Additionally, they will mentor development staff on the use of application development tools, best practices, and the department’s standards and procedures. This position is located at the DCF Headquarters in Tallahassee, within the Office of Information Technology Services.EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

  • Design and Development of Complex Applications: Design and development of complex web and desktop applications using .NET technologies such as ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core, C# and SQL Server.
  • Code Review and Best Practices: Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and adherence to best practices. Mentor junior developers and provide guidance on coding standards and practices.
  • Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in applications and databases.
  • DevOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions. Automate deployment processes and ensure smooth releases.
  • Security Implementation: Implement security best practices in application development.
  • Technical Documentation and Specifications: Create detailed technical documentation, including design documents, API documentation, and user guides. Collaborate with business analysts to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other development teams to develop enterprise applications.
  • Other: Perform other duties as required.
