Position Overview
Fremont Bank seeks a seasoned, passionate, Application Architect to join our Technology team. The Application Architect is responsible for developing and overseeing Application architecture that aligns with Digital platform strategy. This position is responsible for creating and delivering high quality technology solutions in conjunction with the architecture, development and business teams. This position will apply knowledge of modern software architecture patterns, solution implementation experience and comprehensive understanding of technology to solve many unique and challenging problems. Strong experience with service-driven designs, cloud native application development, and CI/CD is preferred.
The role will provide architectural expertise, direction, and assistance to the software product development teams, while mentoring staff to build knowledge and consistency of design patterns. You will also ensure architectural principles such as high performance scalability, reuse, and simplicity are implemented.
Role and Responsibilities
- Create detailed solution architectures in alignment with current and future product and technology roadmaps; Design, develop, debug and test new software or significant enhancements to existing software applications, in accordance with solution architecture.
- Provide architectural expertise, direction, and assistance to the software product development teams.
- Mentor staff to build knowledge and consistency of design & implementation patterns. Ensure architectural principles such as high performance scalability, reuse, and simplicity are implemented.
- Collaborate with product management, operations, sales, customers, and external partners to understand target market segments and business use cases.
- Assist in the creation of technology and product platform roadmaps based on corporate strategy, industry direction, emerging technology, and research.
- Hands on engagement to help solve critical customer production issues as required.
- Performance tune applications deployed across various operating systems, languages, third party infrastructure software components, and computing platforms.
- Provide influence and leadership in defining architectural solutions, setting architectural direction, and governing the architecture assets.
- Capacity and Demand management for development and delivery organization.
- Manage the assignment of projects to design leads and application development team.
- Work with Application Development teams to estimate the cost of proposed solutions.
- Drive technology deliveries throughout SDLC.
- Be aware of industry trends and leverage new technologies as appropriate.
- Advanced level of experience with .NET and C# development
- Advanced knowledge of web development and technologies e.g., IIS, ASP.NET MVC.
- Advance Knowledge in coding HTML5, jQuery, AngularJS or other JavaScript frameworks
- Advance knowledge of mortgage loan origination platforms like Empower.
- This role will work to support the Digital strategy from IT Perspective for Residential Lending and other business verticals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (MS/MBA a plus)
- 10+ years of experience in architecture, design and implementation of complex software systems
- 10+ years in leading medium & large scale software projects
- 3+ years strong experience in implementing large scale vendor packaged applications implementation and integration/data architecture experience
- Ability to implement contemporary business solutions leveraging SOA, Microservices, BPM, Mobile, Cloud and Data architecture
- Fluency required in the following technologies/tools: C# / .NET, SQL Server, Oracle, SSIS, Javascript, AJAX, JSON, REST
- Track record of conceiving of and developing new architectural extensions to existing products which yielded new revenue opportunities and/or decreased operating expenses
- Experience architecting software solutions with the following characteristics strongly preferred: software-as-a-service, multi-tenancy, high volume analytics (batch and/or realtime), decision support, business intelligence reporting
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to influence and build relationships with LOB stakeholders, technology CIO leadership, external service providers, and architecture teams
- Experience in Financial Services or other highly regulated industry
- Familiar with Agile/SCRUM, Automation and DevOps
- Development and Software delivery management
- Experience in working with vendor solutions or banking products
