Job description: The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to provide corporate governance support to the Governance and Risk teams. The successful candidate will need to ensure a robust program of Board and Committee reporting and other governance activities are streamlined across the department.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Support the development, implementation and ongoing review for Governance Framework and related policies and procedures, to ensure the Board and management fulfil their statutory obligations for the proper, effective and efficient governance of the department.
  • Provide support and guidance to managers and staff regarding corporate governance matters and ensure effective compliance with the departments Framework.
  • Provide assistance with the day-to-day work of the Board and Committees Secretariat function, including the direct support for staff undertaking these roles, to ensure deadlines are planned for, and outcomes are advanced.
  • Manage and monitor progress on high key initiatives, identify any/potential obstacles and provide solutions from a governance perspective.
  • Coordinate the preparation of briefings, submissions, Board and Senior Leadership Team papers and other complex and sensitive documents addressing issues affecting the Board and the Integrity and Risk Division.
  • Ensure accurate and timely provision of information and reports as required.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as required.
