This is the opportunity to join our friendly and supportive Learning and Development Team in the role of Allied Health Educator. The successful candidate for this role will primarily be based at our Juniper Central site in Balcatta, with travel across the metropolitan area required to visit our Juniper sites.
Whilst working in this rewarding role you will develop, facilitate and coordinate professional development for our growing Allied Health Team. You will also provide restorative and reablement focused education for our Transition Care Program and support manual handling training and assessment across our sites.
This is a permanent full-time position working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.
To be considered for this role you must be currently registered with AHPRA as either a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist AND you must have at a minimum Certificate IV Training and Assessment, or be working towards this qualification currently.
Key Responsibilities of this role
- Coordinate, resource and advise on relevant capability development initiatives
- Implement and maintain education information, systems and audit processes to support compliance with policy, legislation and accreditation requirements
- Implement and facilitate clinical education programs
- Develop allied health educational resources
- Provide on-the-job training, education and assessment
- Support professional development opportunities, capability building and planning
- Comply with Work Health and Safety requirements
The Skills, Knowledge and Experience required
- Current AHPRA registration as Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist – essential
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent (or current progress towards this qualification) – essential
- Significant experience in an acute health care, community health care and/or aged care setting
- Demonstrated experience in the development and facilitation of blended-learning education and training programs to individuals and groups
- Experience mentoring and providing clinical guidance to large teams
- Knowledge of aged care industry funding models
- Knowledge of adult learning and assessment principles
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal skills and computer literacy
- Demonstrated ability to work as team member and autonomously
- Current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle – essential
- Received at least two covid-19 vaccinations and have had, or willing to obtain, influenza vaccination annually
