Tell me more…Deliver advanced level maternity and gynaecology Physiotherapy services, provide clinical and professional leadership, contribute to strategic planning for the service, and develop culturally safe services in accordance with the Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service organisational goals. To lead the TCHHS maternity and gynaecology Physiotherapy services by implementing innovative practices and service design which may include skill sharing, delegation to support workers, and use of telehealth/ehealth solutions to optimise service access for rural and remote communities. Operate as a member of the multidisciplinary team including Weipa Midwifery Group Practice (WMGP) to provide clinical and community Women’s Health services across the lifespan and to operate as a member of the multidisciplinary Allied Health team, providing generalist physiotherapy services to multiple communities across TCHHS.

To be successful in this role you will have:
- Collaborate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and patients, to design, adapt, implement and evaluate culturally safe and responsive interventions.
- Apply a well-developed generalist scope of Physiotherapy practice to meet the wide range of clinical presentations, including paediatrics, with external specialist support as required and/or willingness to upskill in these areas.
- Convey high level clinical advice and other relevant health information to stakeholders including the multidisciplinary care team, staff, students and community members as required.
- Independently manage workflow, caseload, resources, policies and procedures to maximise service equity and sustainability.

Requirements for the role:
- Possession of a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Physiotherapy from a recognised tertiary institution and registration as a Physiotherapist with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia and/or AHPRA is mandatory.
- This position requires the incumbent to operate a ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence. An appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty.
- Travel across the TCHHS may be a requirement of this position in commercial and/or light aircraft and 4WD vehicles
