The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) is the principal organisation representing the medical specialty of psychiatry in Australia and New Zealand. A leader in the mental health sector, the College works to prepare medical specialists in the field of psychiatry, support and enhance clinical practice, advocate for people affected by mental illness and advise governments on mental health care.
Position overview
The RANZCP has received Australian Government funding for the Psychiatry Workforce Program (PWP) and Flexible Approach to Training in Expanded Settings (FATES) projects. This position is responsible for supporting the delivery of these projects according to the contracted schedule/s of the initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule face to face or teleconference meetings, including organising travel and catering.
- Coordinate the administration of committee/management group meetings including agendas, action list and minutes.
- Preparation of documentation resulting from committee/management group meetings including letters, briefing papers, and reports.
- Provide administrative support and preparation of materials to support project events and workshops.
- Process and track invoices, expense reimbursements, e-ticket cabcharge and preparing credit card reconciliations.
- Update and maintain content of website pages.
- Prepare and distribute communications to stakeholders including newsletters.
- Establish, maintain and improve general office management systems, to support the project team, including filing systems, standard operating procedures and databases.
- Filing of agreements, progress reports, financial records, meeting papers, and correspondence.
- Providing other administrative support as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in multidisciplinary settings, including evidence of clear and concise writing for a variety of audiences.
- Demonstrated experience in providing administrative support to committees and working groups.
- Competence with the MS Office suite and database software and understanding of teleconference and videoconference technologies.
- Experience working in or an understanding of the Australian health system is desirable.
- Experience in or an interest in improving access to healthcare in rural and remote settings is desirable.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in education, healthcare is desirable.
- Eligibility Requirement: Applicants must be either an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen. Alternatively, they must possess a valid visa for the specified duration.
