Casual role, as required.
The Karumba Primary Healthcare Clinic has one emergency bed, two treating rooms, Telehealth facilities for emergency and specialist consultations. Patients attend the clinic from the township, stations and vessels located in the lower gulf waters. Queensland Ambulance service is co-located at the clinic and has a single operator paramedic on shift 24/7.
This role performs a range of duties to assist the day-to-day administration of the Karumba Primary Healthcare Clinic.
Financial benefits:
- Casual rates: $46.35 to $51.54 p.h. (AO3).
- 12.75% employer super contribution
Position location:
Karumba Primary Healthcare Clinic, North West Hospital and Health Service, Queensland.
Karumba, known as the `Outback by the Sea’ is a fishing village with a small but very cosmopolitan population of approx. 610 people.
Each year tourists and semi-permanent residents visit the area during the winter months from April to October; swelling the population anywhere up to 3000 people.
Tourism is the focus of several local businesses including caravan parks, holiday units, and fishing and aircraft charter.
The area’s other main commercial focus is based on fishing (prawning, barramundi and mud crabs) and supporting industries like engineering, marine motors, refrigeration and cold storage.
Karumba is surrounded by cattle country, and there is a Century Zinc mine in operation.
