About the role

Interpreting clinical documentation and demographic information relating to inpatient episodes of care from the patient record for the accurate classification of diseases, injuries and procedures using ICD-10-AM classification system.
Accurate and efficient clinical coding as part of the Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD) coding team.

If you have:

  • Completion of a recognised Clinical Coder Course (or undertaking a course for trainee coder). To be appointed at a level above AO3, the coder must meet the NNSWLHD coder competency level requirements
  • Capacity to work under broad supervision using standards, guidelines and principles to apply coding skills and knowledge in diverse range of tasks, as an effective member of a team in a high-pressure, high-volume work environment
  • A commitment to undertaking and participating in ongoing education
