This posting is for external applicants only. Current MCPS employees do not need to apply.The special education paraprofessional will assist teachers in integrating special education students into the regular classroom as much as possible in order for each student to achieve their maximum academic potential.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of at least 48 semester hours of college credit or a passing score on the Paraprofessional Academic Assessment exam
- Candidates must possess good reading, writing, and computation skills; possess good oral and written communication skills; and have the ability to learn to operate and maintain a wide variety of instructional equipment
- Candidates must have demonstrated the personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, teachers, and parents; must have an interest and ability in working with special education students
