Job description: Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures for gas line pipe construction projects to ensure compliance with local regulations and international standards.Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and implement effective control measures to mitigate workplace accidents and injuries.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate safety considerations into project planning, design, and execution phases.Provide technical guidance and support to site personnel on safety-related matters, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe work practices, and emergency response procedures.Conduct regular safety inspections, toolbox talks, and safety meetings to promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance among employees and subcontractors.Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed incident reports, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.Review and approve contractor safety plans, method statements, and risk assessments to ensure alignment with project safety objectives and regulatory requirements.Monitor environmental conditions and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit requirements, including waste management and pollution control measures.Coordinate with regulatory agencies, clients, and other stakeholders on safety-related matters, including permit applications, inspections, and compliance audits.Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes in safety engineering and occupational health to continuously improve safety performance and reduce risks.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety engineering, preferably in gas line pipe construction or related industries.NEBOSH certification (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) or equivalent required.Familiarity with safety management systems (SMS), risk assessment methodologies, and hazard identification techniques.Strong technical knowledge of safety engineering principles, standards, and regulations.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Effective communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and safety management software.Valid UAE driving license preferred.Must possess own visa or obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer.Duration: 18 months contract
