Job description: THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced, talented and motivated individual to join the Commission for Gender Equality in the Public Sector (Commission) as Manager, Stakeholder Engagement and Support.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to improve gender equality outcomes for the Victorian public sector, and wider Victorian community. Working closely with the Director and Commissioner, you will have the opportunity to advance your career and apply your team management, leadership, operations and project management experience within a highly supportive environment. You will manage and support a team of five.
The successful candidate will be a high-performing, proactive and adaptive self-starter with the ability to develop and deliver stakeholder and communication strategies, systems, and processes from the ground up within a complex environment, build collaborative relationships and networks, and deliver a diverse range of projects and tasks under pressure. This role requires an understanding of government processes and excellent team management skills and experience. A professional background in strategic stakeholder management and/or communications would be highly desirable.
You will also work closely with our leadership team to establish the next phase of the Commission’s strategic direction. In return, you will have the opportunity to implement once in a generation legislative change designed to significantly improve gender equality outcomes for the Victorian public sector and beyond.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Drive a collaborative, respectful and high performing team environment. Actively participate in and encourage others to support a positive organisational culture, and business and performance excellence.
- Develop and deliver accurate and timely policy advice to government departments, the Public Sector Gender Equality Commissioner, Senior Executives, and the Minister for Women.
- Work closely with the Director to manage stakeholder and communication functions of the Commission, including overseeing the development of the Commissioner’s key speeches and meeting notes, as well as the Commission’s website, social media and other stakeholder engagement activities and support.
