Job description: Newton Moore Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint a motivated and creative Marketing and Administration Support Officer to join their friendly team.
About the role
The successful applicant will ideally apply innovation and creativity in the development and implementation of a marketing plan whilst assisting in the production and the sub-editing of a range of communications to ensure compliance with School and Departmental policies and guidelines.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- School printed and online publications.
- Newsletters, letters, and circulars.
- Social media pages (Instagram, Facebook)
- Website updates and content creation.
- Coordination and publication of various reports and documents; and
- Creation and promotion of media releases.
The successful applicant will have an ability to promote the school brand, image and reputation and report to leadership on measurable objectives. As such, the possession of well-developed people skills, initiative, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with school leadership is highly regarded. The ability to maintain positive relationships with stakeholders will be highly regarded.

Newton Moore SHS has a strong focus on building staff capacity through Classroom Management Support (CMS) and Instructional Strategies in Education (ISE). We have multiple Conference Accredited Trained (CAT) teachers who support teachers to engaging in high level reflection.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete the Department’s induction program within 3 months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within 6 months of appointment and every 3 years thereafter
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
