St. Basil’s Aged Care is seeking a talented and committed IT Software Engineer to join our growing team. You’ll play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our technology infrastructure, to ensure our residents receive the best possible care and support.

Here’s how you’ll make a difference:

  • Develop web applications: Collaborate with the team to build web-based tools and solutions that enhance resident experiences. This could involve anything from communication platforms to activity management systems.
  • Safeguard data: Ensure the security and integrity of our data systems, protecting resident privacy and sensitive information.
  • Simplify processes: Automate tasks and workflows to improve operational efficiency and free up staff time for direct resident care.
  • Embrace innovation: Stay updated on the latest technologies and explore opportunities to implement them for the benefit of our residents and staff.
  • Partner with our community: Work closely with care teams, residents, and families to understand their needs and translate them into tech solutions.

Beyond the code:

  • Design and maintain software systems with a focus on resident wellbeing and staff efficiency.
  • Evaluate and test new software, ensuring it aligns with our values and mission.
  • Optimize systems for speed, scalability, and user-friendliness.
  • Participate in meetings and share your expertise to guide technology-related decisions.

Desired Skills and Experience

What you bring to the table:

  • A Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in C#, VB.NET, and ASP.NET, with an open mind to learning new technologies.
  • Experience with databases (e.g., MS SQL Server) and data security practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the application development life cycle.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • A passion for serving seniors and understanding their needs.
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken.

Expected salary: $77000 per year
