Job description: THE ROLE
Housing Services Officers play a vital role in supporting the delivery of client-centered services to individuals and families who seek housing assistance or reside in public housing. Housing Services Officers are part of a network of community workers and organisations that share the responsibility for working with vulnerable people to promote and support their wellbeing. Based in offices across the state, the role undertakes a range of tasks relating to tenancy and property management and the provision of housing advice and assistance.
The Senior Housing Services Officer is a highly skilled housing worker who uses their expertise and knowledge to resolve complex and challenging problems associated with client needs and housing tenancies. They have a key role in coaching, mentoring and guiding other housing staff and require the capability to work proactively in managing service delivery complexity.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Initiate and facilitate case conferences for clients which may include cross Department and agency collaboration.
- Review and recommend strategies for early intervention involving clients with challenging problems, including the use of risk assessment tools and frameworks.
- Apply understanding of interrelationships between stakeholders and/or other work units to influence improved housing outcomes and policy.
