Job description: Admin & Account – RosebankIntroductionApadana Holding (Pty) Ltd. is a holding company located in Johannesburg. The company owns two hardware stores in Randburg area. The company has ca. 30 employees responsible for sales, receiving and merchandising goods, and accounting and administration.Apadana wants to hire an Administrators and account clerk for its Parktown North Branch. Admin and Account position is responsible for Bookkeeping, capturing invoices, managing cash and Capture invoices & business costs.• Managing Petty cash.• Daily cash-up of a retail shop.• Audit cash received, Account received and compare with the sales figures daily.• Keep IQ retail creditors and debtors’ book up to date.• Keep track of employees’ roster and working hours to calculate net salaries.• Communicating debtors & Creditors on payment disputes and bookkeeping issues.• Managing a group of 5 admin staff.• Office administration & management.Duties & ResponsibilitiesCheck & audit statements and invoices.Ensure that IQ retail is updated with all financial transactions.Managing daily cash-up and cash-flow management at the tillsApprove and authorise certain payments.Check all shop account invoices.Ensure correct procedures are followed on Good received and returned.Ensure all daily balancing procedures are completed according to company policy .Complete documentation in accordance with instructions and procedures.Initiate stock taking on a specific product range, or based on supplier, if stock on hand does not match the system value (Monitor and control all aspects of stock taking is controlled by another role)Work with Intercode Payroll to calculate PAYE values and net salaries for staff.Assistance in conducting staff appraisals on a regular basis to measure staff performance and implement corrective action where necessary.Create and maintain a professional, friendly working relationship, sharing information as needed with suppliers and main debtors.Assist in staff preparation including upcoming rosters when required.Prepare PAYE calculations for EMP201.Contribute to the planning of long-term objectives for the store.Organise and oversee the work of the administration office.Oversee the day-to-day leadership of team members.Desired Experience & QualificationRequired skills & ExperienceMinimum Matriculated.An accounting or bookkeeping certificate is a preference.Minimum of 1-year experience in bookkeeping. BookkeepingCash-flow management.Understanding of concept of debtors & creditorsWork with MS Office: Excel, Word, and OutlookWell-spoken in EnglishWriting emails and responding communicationsArchiving documents Preferences:Previous experience with IQ retail.Previous experience with Intercode Payroll softwareAccounting exposurePrevious experience in a hardware retail store Package & RemunerationThe remuneration for this position will be negotiated with the candidates based on his/her experience and skills. Industry norms will be considered.The company provides training on various subjects and provide industry accepted certifications.Employees can apply for a medical insurance at an affordable rate. Expected salary: R10000 – 14000 per month
