The Mater Hospital Administration team has an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Senior Administration Officer to join our Special Care Nursery / Neonatology Intensive Care Unit Administration team. This is full time (38 hours per week) position.

Salary range: $35.45 – $39.62 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900

What you’ll be doing

This position is a Senior Administration Officer, and your role will involve but not limited to:

  • Providing Exceptional Customer Service to patients and clients
  • Processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges and the preparation of clinical forms.
  • Providing administrative support to clinical staff
  • Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality, complying with administration, and financial policy and procedures, maintaining accurate, current and accessible files, including maintenance of records of relevant meetings and discussions
  • Continually demonstrate highly developed written communication skills including ability to draft routine correspondence on behalf of senior management.
  • Provide administrative assistance to other senior staff and others as requested
  • Exercise judgement where necessary to solve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures not defined

About you

To be successful in this role you will meet the following in the following:

  • Maintain a high level of confidentially of both personal and financials within the business
  • Maintains up to date knowledge on procedures and policies of the work area/s
  • Highly developed time management and organisational skills
  • Strong computer skills including competence in Administration systems (and the ability to quickly learn new systems)
  • Ensure effective, accurate and timely communication with staff and clients, communicating with professionalism, sensitivity and discretion
  • Ensure accurate data entry using appropriate electronic systems
  • Exercise judgement and initiative within define procedures, precedents, guidelines and instructions
  • Maintain a safe working environment complying with Workplace Health and Safety and anti-discrimination policies
  • Support and assist other administration and clinical team members within the business as required
  • Comply with and adhere to Mater Health Services and the private practice policies, procedures, standards and legislation relevant to the role and business unit
