You’ll assist the Resident Engineer with inspections, contractor coordination, technical review, and project reporting, while ensuring all tunnel works meet UAE standards and international safety codes. This is a highly technical and rewarding job for tunnel engineering professionals seeking growth in the GCC.Key Responsibilities
- Supervise tunnel construction and underground station works, coordinating with contractors and subcontractors
- Monitor TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) operations and compliance with geotechnical and safety standards
- Review shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, and material submissions
- Maintain accurate site records, inspector diaries, and construction documentation
- Ensure tunnel works progress according to project timelines and safety protocols
- Conduct site inspections, manage quality control, and resolve technical discrepancies
- Support the Resident Engineer in issuing site instructions and coordinating with utilities and service authorities
- Assist with progress reports, safety audits, and final handover documentation
- Oversee the completion and validation of as-built drawings and clearance certificates
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum 15 years of experience supervising large-diameter TBM tunnel projects
- Strong expertise in bored tunnel construction using TBM equipment
- Deep knowledge of geotechnical standards and tunnel safety practices
- Proven ability to lead large infrastructure teams on metro rail projects
- Excellent command of English, both verbal and written
- Familiarity with UAE/GCC construction regulations and handover procedures
- Experience working on at least one metro project involving TBM from start to finish
