This postdoctoral role centers on advanced contributions to the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider, particularly in areas such as MC software development, pileup modeling, and high-level trigger performance. Candidates with background in heterogeneous computing and accelerator development for the HL-LHC will be given priority. The successful applicant will also help guide PhD students and collaborate closely with UAE and international research partners.Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and development in MC validation, physics modeling, and pileup simulation
- Support performance studies and optimization of the MET High-Level Trigger
- Contribute to ATLAS heterogeneous computing and HL-LHC acceleration strategies
- Lead project tasks and participate in collaborative research with the UAE-ATLAS cluster
- Supervise and mentor graduate students involved in the ATLAS project
- Produce peer-reviewed publications and present findings at international conferences
Job Requirements
- PhD in Experimental High Energy Physics or closely related field
- Demonstrated experience in trigger development, MC simulation, or ATLAS computing
- Familiarity with large-scale experimental particle physics infrastructure
- Strong programming skills and experience with scientific computing tools
- Ability to lead research components independently and collaboratively
- Excellent communication and documentation skills in an international academic setting
