The Assistant Director for Residential Education provides strategic direction and leadership for the residential life program at NYUAD. The role is focused on implementing a data-informed residential curriculum, supervising Residential College Directors, and leading staff training and professional development. The position also requires direct involvement in student conduct, budget oversight, and 24/7 on-call crisis response. It is a live-on role demanding strong communication skills and cultural competency in a global university environment.Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support four Residential College Directors through one-on-ones, team meetings, and performance planning
  • Lead the design, execution, and assessment of the Residential Education curriculum and related student engagement programs
  • Foster an inclusive and developmentally appropriate environment aligned with NYUAD’s values
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training for Resident Assistants and Senior RAs
  • Develop and monitor residence hall operating budgets and student programming allocations
  • Serve on a rotating on-call duty schedule and respond to residential emergencies, conduct issues, and wellness interventions
  • Act as a conduct hearing officer for mid-level residential cases, promoting restorative justice and educational outcomes
  • Collaborate with campus departments such as Public Safety, Health & Wellness, and Student Conduct to support student life initiatives

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Student Affairs or related field strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in student housing/residential life, with at least 2 years of professional staff supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and assess residential programming
  • Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and communication skills
  • Deep cultural awareness and ability to work with international student populations
  • Experience with crisis management, student conduct processes, and housing operations
