Job Overview
As a Sous Chef – Pastry, you will contribute to the success of our culinary operations by creating world-class pastries that elevate the guest experience. You will support the Pastry Chef in maintaining high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation in line with Jumeirah’s reputation for excellence.Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute high-quality pastry items according to menu specifications and hygiene standards
- Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently, maintaining cleanliness and food safety regulations at all times
- Collaborate with senior chefs on menu creation, seasonal offerings, and specialty desserts
- Supervise and mentor pastry staff, promoting a culture of skill development and excellence
- Uphold Jumeirah’s commitment to innovation, taste, and visual appeal in every dessert prepared
- Monitor and manage stock levels, food costs, and equipment maintenance in the pastry section
Job Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or Pastry from a recognized institution
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a luxury hotel or upscale restaurant setting
- Strong expertise in classical and contemporary pastry techniques and trends
- Skilled in recipe development, food costing, and kitchen operations
- Proven ability to lead and inspire a team under pressure while maintaining high quality
