To learn more about our organization’s model and impact, we encourage you to watch the following .About the Program:Access Point in the Mission District is part of the Adult Coordinated Entry System and in partnership with the Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing (HSH). The purpose of the Coordinated Entry System is to ensure that all people experiencing housing instability are identified, assessed, and matched to appropriate housing opportunities. Through problem solving and housing navigation services, Coordinated Entry seeks to minimize homelessness and help individuals move into safe, stable, and dignified housing.Coordinated Entry incorporates a system-wide housing first approach and uses standardized tools, assessment, and referral processes to determine and secure the most appropriate response to each client’s immediate and long-term housing needs.Position Summary:The Site Coordinator is responsible for providing daily support to four Problem-Solving Specialists, with their day-to-day activities. This position will support with overseeing the quality of paperwork created by the Problem-Solvers and Housing Navigators before being submitted to the Program Manager for approval. In addition, this position will purchase air tickets, deliver rent check, and handle finance needs to support clients from risks of being homeless. The Site Coordinator will also ensure that data gathered is being uploaded and accurately reflected in database systems designed for tracking. The Site Coordinator will also be responsible with coordinating and supporting staff with Outreach Activities, intakes, and assessments at different sites.The Site Coordinator will report directly to the Program Manager. The position will work primarily at the Access Point based in the Mission and will be asked to visit other Mission Action sites as needed.Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate client assignments and triage to ensure that clients access the services needed.
  • Coordinate and support staff with outreach activities
  • Process rental deposits, first and last month rent, relocation travel costs, furniture costs, moving costs, gift cards, and complete the financial reports.
  • Practice and model professional customer service to all clients and providers all times.
  • Ensure that a client-centered and trauma-informed team approach is conducted that assists clients with exiting homelessness and accessing safe and dignified housing.
  • Collaborate with staff to analyze information, situations, and potential opportunities for housing solutions.
  • Oversee staff’s daily data entry and reports within the HSH ONE system and address any issues with staff to ensure data quality.
  • Develop and foster relationships with community partners for housing and other service referrals.
  • Manage crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed.
  • Work one-on-one with clients as necessary, providing either Problem Solving Attend regular staff trainings, meetings, and development activities in collaboration with the Program Manager
  • Ensure that all material and forms necessary to conduct daily operations are ready and available for staff use
  • Ensure that all important documents necessary for daily operations are available in Share Point for all staff to access
  • Manage and monitor the tracking of relevant and important daily data

Other Organizational Duties:

  • Conduct business in accordance with the Mission Action Employee Handbook, exercising sound judgment and serving the best interests of the agency and the community.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Background in and passion for working with low-income and immigrant communities around issues of affordable housing, land use, and/or immigrant & worker rights; familiarity with these issues in the Mission District and San Francisco, highly desired.
  • An understanding of intersectionality and the needs of communities impacted by homelessness in San Francisco, particularly in the Mission District.
  • A strong commitment to housing justice, as well as inclusive and multi-cultural programming. Demonstrated knowledge/experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness.
  • Bilingual (written and oral) in Spanish preferred.
  • Experience with crisis intervention, establishing boundaries, conflict resolution, and de-escalation.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Proficiency with basic computer programs including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Knowledge of the ONE System preferred.
  • Experience with excellent provision of Customer Service
  • Demonstrated experience with critical thinking
  • Criminal background check is required
