This position supports the Marine Corps Total Fitness efforts, assists the WARR professional team members in providing a full range of services that include but are not limited to performance assessments, measurements, evaluations, data entry, coaching support, set-up and take down related to the delivery of WARR programming.Provides instruction and consultation on proper exercise techniques to individuals and groups participating in WARR programs. Supports the implementation and maintenance of WARR programming related to aerobic fitness, muscular fitness, body composition, flexibility, and functional movement. Assists the WARR professionals by instructing patrons regarding equipment use, techniques, and concepts related to health, wellness, prevention, and performance across all domains. Assists in the coordination and maintenance of schedules for command WARR programming for Active-Duty military personnel.Assists certified WARR professionals in providing programming to varied population regarding age, medical status, and physical capabilities. Incumbent will assist with populations deemed to be healthy and special populations consisting of patrons currently under a physician¿s care or those who have a medical referral. Under the guidance of a strength and conditioning coach, athletic trainer or other WARR team professional and be able to adapt physical training programs based on these variables.Assists the strength and conditioning coach in implementing training programs that reflect industry best practices and compliance with Marine Corps policies and regulations, to include conferences and workshops on changing technology.May participate in general front desk duties at WARR Centers such as registering patrons, collecting exercise fees, and maintains attendance and appropriate accounting records. Assists in general housekeeping duties such as cleaning, mopping and sweeping floors and maintaining exercise equipment in proper condition.Provides world class customer service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. EVALUATIONS:QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor¿s degree in a related field preferred. One year of experience within the health/fitness industry is preferred. Possess and maintain a basic level personal training certification from a nationally accredited certifying organization. Ability to obtain the Tactical Strength and Conditioning (TSAC) or (USAW) United States Weightlifting certification within a year of hire. Knowledge of established exercise physiology principles, concepts and techniques to plan and conduct fitness testing, interpret results and develop effective fitness plans. Skill to work with patrons with risk factors who may have been referred by a physician. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of and skill to administer health screenings, fitness assessments, functional assessments, exercise prescriptions, progressive individual fitness plans, and proper exercise techniques. Possess a current CPR, AED, and First Aid certificate from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or obtain within 6 months of hire.
