About the Role
Joondalup Health Campus are looking for qualified clinical coders to join our Clinical Coding team. Depending on your experience you will
- Ensure the collection, collation, and management of data aligns seamlessly with the hospital’s legislative requirements.
- Your key responsibility will be to deliver precise and timely coding of diagnoses and procedures, whilst adhering to the Australian Coding Standards.
- Your contribution will be essential to maintaining professional coding standards and your continuous professional development.
At the heart of a respectful and supportive team, you’ll report to the Clinical Coding Coordinator.
About You
To thrive in this role, you should be adaptable, possess exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills, and constantly demonstrate courtesy and sensitivity when dealing with patients, the public, and fellow team members.
In addition, you should have:
- Clinical Coding qualifications from Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) or equivalent, or Bachelor of Applied Science (Health Information Management)
- Sound and updated knowledge of ICD-10-AM 12th edition and Australian Coding Standards
- Ability and willingness to take on continuing study
- Knowledge and understanding of DRG and Casemix
- Over 2 years of experience in abstracting and coding across a wide casemix.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and patient Management Systems
Remuneration: On Offer is base annual salary ranging from 70K – 110K commensurate with experience
