Job Description

Pay Range $44.20 to $52.00 per hour.

This position is responsible within the Database Administration function for the baseline support and enhancement; including monitoring, maintenance, support, improvement and integration of assigned database and infrastructure-based products (Infrastructure Functions) in the Foster Farms computing environment. Solution implementation of new vendor-supplied and/or in-house developed database solutions (Infrastructure Solutions) within assigned Infrastructure Functions.

Essential Job Functions

  • Work closely with IT staff to provide effective and efficient business solutions in the assigned Infrastructure Functions.
  • This position will monitor and analyze assigned Infrastructure Solutions to determine the efficiency and effectiveness of the Foster Farms Infrastructure environment. This requires a limited degree of creativity and latitude. The Associate DBA may also play a role in enforcing standards relating to the use of assigned.
  • Analyze and resolve low to moderate impact problems and issues, which occur in assigned Infrastructure Solutions. In addition, the Associate DBA will create instructions regarding how to perform the functions of the job. The Associate DBA will:
  • Develop and maintain a moderate understanding of the design and program functions included in systems configurations.
  • Maintain/enhance Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) for all assigned Infrastructure Functions
  • Monitor all systems/solutions for compliance with these SLA’s.
  • Monitor compliance with established change control policies and procedures.
  • This role will also participate in making recommendations that are used in setting overall department direction.
  • Systems integration, upgrade, support, rollout, maintaining database integrity, backups and restores.
  • Systems administration, monitoring, performance tuning and systems documentation
  • Learn all features and operation of all database tools used by the company.
  • Assist in database design activities.
  • Project Participation on moderately complex initiatives
  • Assist in SailPoint Identity Management as well as SAP Security.

Qualifications

  • BS in Computer/Management Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 4 – 6 years of industry experience
  • 4+ years of experience in database technology, preferable with Oracle and/or SQL server relational databases
  • 4+ years of experience with systems analysis, design and implementation programming, preferable in UNIX (AIX)/Windows
  • 3+ years of experience in Systems Development, developing moderately complex IT solutions to improve business processes.
  • 3+ years of progressive responsibility in software analysis, design, development, configuration and programming including experience using one or more of PL/SQL, Powershell, Shell Scripts, Python or Perl.
  • Knowledge of and moderate experience with scripting
  • Understanding of how to interview end users for insight on functionality, problems, or usability issues and needs.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle phases and activities, and project management principles.
  • Thorough understanding of developing and completing test cases and test scenarios.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare technical and user documentation for projects and enhancements.
  • Demonstrated capability to work to a structured work plan with aggressive milestones and have strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making ability.
  • Must be goal and results oriented and have strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making ability.
  • Must have experience enabling change with experience on high impact projects.
  • Ability to effectively execute tasks in a changing and demanding environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach/mentor and educate staff within assigned functions, and other IT systems capabilities and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach/educate self in the infrastructure arena, both within assigned functions and outside of assigned functions.
  • Must possess solid critical thinking skills with the capability to envision creative solutions to moderately complex and challenging business/infrastructure process/system issues.
  • Very good interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to communicate effectively with management, users, staff and team members, both written and verbal.
  • Common sense skill sets.
  • Self-motivated and directed.
  • Strong service orientation skills with a desire to help others.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: * Master’s Degree

  • 5+ years of IT experience working in a manufacturing organization for a $1+ billion organization.
  • 5+ years of experience in Infrastructure Services
  • Experience supporting Infrastructure Services in an SAP environment.
  • Experience with server virtualization.
  • Relevant industry certifications
  • 3+ years of progressive responsibility in software analysis, design, development, configuration and programming including experience using one or more of SAP ABAP, C, C++, Visual Basic (VB), Java, and/or PL/SQL, VB.NET, Java, PL/SQL, Socket Programming, Shell Scripts, Perl or other relevant programming languages.
  • Possess the ability to move up within the organization.
