Job description: Shirley Parsons is working with a leading, regional civil engineering and construction contractor, to help them find a Safety Advisor in the Boston, MA area. Reporting into the Safety Director as part of a closeknit and high-performing safety team, this hands-on role will support a variety of projects in the New England and North-East region. This person will be responsible for executing the company’s safety initiatives and programs on designated projects and foster a robust safety culture.The Role:

- Implement safety programs, initiatives and drive compliance on assigned construction and civil engineering projects
- Participate in safety/compliance inspections and OHSMS audits; keep a daily record of field activities, identified hazards, and mitigated risks.
- Create Job Safety Analyses for environments with high-risk tasks
- Support incident and near miss investigations, to identify root causes and preventive actions
The Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management or Occupational Health and Safety preferred
- ASP/GSP credentials would be desirable, with the ability to work towards certifications such as CSP, CHST and CUSP in due course
- 1-4 years of safety experience in within construction, civil engineering, utilities
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and best practices within the construction sector
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships with project personnel
- Ability to travel as required throughout New England and the North-East, across multiple project locations
Expected salary: $75000 – 100000 per year
