Gender: AnyWhat Does a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Do?– Lead the design and development of mechanical building services such as HVAC, water supply, drainage, firefighting, gas systems, and building management systems (BMS)
– Coordinate MEP design drawings with architectural, structural, and interior layouts
– Review and validate mechanical design packages from concept to Issued for Construction (IFC) stage
– Prepare and verify mechanical calculations, load schedules, and detailed system specifications
– Ensure compliance with local and international standards including NFPA, ASHRAE, SMACNA, DEWA, Dubai Municipality, UAE Fire Code, and TRAKHEES requirements
– Liaise with district cooling providers and verify design compatibility with operator specifications
– Collaborate daily with cross-discipline teams and stakeholders for seamless project integration
– Maintain awareness of building services integration and related discipline coordinationWhat Are the Key Responsibilities?– Lead mechanical systems design from concept through completion for residential and commercial developments
– Oversee drawing production and technical documentation ensuring alignment with project requirements
– Manage design coordination and resolve technical challenges through cross-discipline engagement

– Stay updated on local authority guidelines and incorporate regulatory requirements into design
– Ensure accurate and timely delivery of mechanical design outputsWhat Skills Are Needed for a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Dubai?Education:
– Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical EngineeringExperience:
– Minimum of 11 years of experience in MEP design consultancy
– At least 8 years of Gulf experience, with a minimum of 5 years in Dubai in mechanical design rolesTechnical Skills:
– Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, and HAP software
– Deep understanding of mechanical codes and standards applicable to the UAE
– Strong knowledge of district cooling systems and local authority requirementsSoft Skills:
– Excellent coordination and communication skills for working in multidisciplinary environments
– High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
