Job description: Good Life Group, Inc., (GLG) dba as Good Life Construction, Good Life Inspections/Pest, Good Life Restoration and TOV Planning and Permitting, is looking for a dynamic Safety Coordinator to join our team of professionals. This individual contributor role is an hourly, full-time position located in North Highlands, California.Good Life Group is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to develop, implement, and oversee our safety programs and initiatives.The Safety Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations, identifying potential hazards, and fostering a strong safety culture throughout the organization.Responsibilities:
- Program Development and Implementation:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA).
- Create and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels, including new hire orientation, ongoing training, and specialized topics.
- Establish and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and drills.
- Coordinate and support the activities of the safety committee.
- Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification:
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of workplaces to identify potential hazards and assess risks.
- Perform job hazard analyses (JHAs) for various tasks and operations.
- Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate identified hazards.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop preventative measures.
- Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:
- Stay up-to-date on all relevant safety regulations and ensure the company’s compliance.
- Maintain required safety records, documentation, and permits.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA) during inspections or inquiries.
- Oversee the proper use, maintenance, and availability of safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Training and Communication:
- Develop and deliver engaging safety training materials and presentations.
- Communicate safety policies, procedures, and best practices effectively to all employees.
- Promote safety awareness through various communication channels (e.g., newsletters, meetings, posters).
- Ensure that safety information and resources are readily accessible to employees.
- Incident Investigation and Reporting:
- Lead or participate in the investigation of workplace accidents, injuries, and near misses.
- Analyze incident data to identify trends and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.
- Prepare accurate and timely reports on safety incidents and metrics.
- Manage the company’s worker’s compensation program in coordination with HR.
- Safety Culture Promotion:
- Champion a strong safety culture by actively engaging employees and promoting safe work behaviors.
- Encourage employee participation in safety initiatives and hazard reporting.
- Recognize and reward safe work practices.
- Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with management, supervisors, and employees across all departments to integrate safety into daily operations.
- Collaborate with HR on safety-related aspects of employee onboarding and offboarding.
- Partner with facilities and maintenance teams to ensure the safety of the physical work environment.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience as a Safety Coordinator or similar position.
- Bilingual in Russian/Ukranian- strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing safety programs and training.
- Excellent hazard identification, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Preferred certifications include ASP, CSP, OSHA certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-hour)].
- Construction industry-specific experience that would be beneficial].
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to conduct site inspections, lift safety equipment, etc.
PAY TRANSPARENCYThis job posting may span more than one career level.In addition to base salary, this job may be eligible to participate in our corporate discretionary bonus program, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar industry companies.
