About The Career:
- The Patient Access Representative is responsible for identifying and obtaining the necessary clinical information to obtain precertification’s and authorizations in the more complex departments such as same day surgery, surgery, infusions and inpatients.
- Insurance-related tasks include: verification, collection of co-payments, and collection of associated paperwork.
- Maintain working knowledge of Regulatory Compliance guidelines for Federal and State programs as they relate to Finance, Good Faith Estimates, and No Surprise Act (NSA)
- Coordinating with Case Management Staff as it relates to Medicaid applications.
- Performs administrative functions, answering phones, and coordinating general requests from other departments and patients.
All About You:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate degree preferred
- CHAA (Certified Healthcare Access Associate) preferred.
- Two years registration experience/Medical Terminology/ Customer service required.
- Knowledge of Medicaid practices and application process preferred.
- Proficient typing-keyboarding skills required / computer literate / spelling proficiency / legible handwriting / must be able to speak and read the English language at an acceptable level / good communication skills /great customer service skills/ works well with public / medical terminology / interpersonal skills / problem solving / prioritizing skills / detail oriented/ math skills.
