Job description: Now Hiring: Medical Front Desk / Patient Access Specialist – Tomball, TX$17/hr + Full Benefits | Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM | Temp-to-HireDean’s Professional Services is actively seeking a Medical Front Desk / Patient Access Specialist to join the team at a large, well-respected healthcare organization in Tomball, TX.This position is ideal for candidates with strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and experience in fast-paced medical settings. If you’re dependable, organized, and ready to provide excellent front-line care to patients – we want to hear from you!What You’ll Be Doing:
- Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone in a professional and friendly manner
- Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound calls, identifying yourself and the clinic
- Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments accurately
- Verify insurance eligibility and collect patient demographic and insurance information
- Collect and process patient payments over the phone and in person
- Send accurate messages to the appropriate provider or clinical staff
- Manually remind patients of appointments when needed
- Verify pharmacy and other clinical information related to the patient’s visit
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all patient interactions
- Support daily front desk operations with reliability and accuracy
What We’re Looking For:
- High School Diploma or GED – Required
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced medical environment
- Experience with EMR systems and Microsoft Outlook – Required
- Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance practices, CPT, and ICD-10 codes
- Basic math skills for handling payments and balancing figures
- Current BLS certification – Preferred
- Previous experience in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, urgent care, or ER – Preferred
- Strong communication skills and customer service mindset
- Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
Job Details:
- Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Pay: Starting at $17/hr (based on experience)
