ResponsibilitiesJob Summary:Responsible for the planning and coordination of the daily patient access (admitting) operations. Conducts staff education and training to support department efficiency and effectiveness.Essential Finctions:

  • Plans and coordinates daily patient access staff assignments, distribution of workload and follow up on tasks to ensure completion.
  • Conducts orientation and training of newly hired staff.
  • Conducts staff continuing education and training. Provides guidance and coaching to ensure staff members are familiar and compliant with established departmental goals, safety and security practices and procedures and pertinent local, state and federal regulations
  • Uses technical knowledge to support the Patient Access (Admitting) department management and staff to ensure consistent understanding of established operating practices
  • Provides input to department supervisor/manager on staff performance.
  • Notifies supervisor or manager of all employee relations issues as well as any other issues that may have the potential to impact the department.
  • Identifies areas for staff improvement and develops training plans to support staff in achieving the expected level of performance.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement and works with department leadership and staff to implement the change management process.
  • Provides communication and training to the Patient Access (Admitting) staff or other department staff to support department efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Escalates all issues involving non-compliance to supervisor and/or manager.
  • Participates in peer interviews and provides feedback to department leadership
  • Provides oversight and support to team members working on special projects.
  • Assumes operational oversight in the absence of the Supervisor.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:HS Diploma or GEDTwo years of business process experience in hospital or medical clinic e.g. Patient Access, Insurance Authorization, Patient Financial Services, Patient Accounting, or Patient Scheduling.Notary Public: AZ (NOTARY:AZ) within 60 daysPrevious Leadership experience preferredUnless directed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement, applications for this position will be considered on a rolling basis.
