Job description: St. Therese Catholic Academy (STCA) is seeking applications for a Business Manager. STCA is a Preschool-8th grade Catholic elementary school in the heart of the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle, just 2 miles east of downtown. St. Therese is a welcoming, diverse, and faith-filled community that has been igniting the faith, minds, and dreams of our students since 1927. The school currently serves 185 students ages 3-14, 35% of whom receive free/reduced lunch. Our families commute from over 40 zip codes to be a part of our community, and over 60% of our families receive tuition assistance. Our staff (the Dream Team) has about 35 team members and is expanding along with our enrollment.The Business Manager is a position that works closely with the school principal, bookkeeper, parish administrator, and advancement director to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations of the school. This position reports directly to the principal and works closely with all members of the school community, including parents.Necessary skills needed for this position:Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsAdherence to confidentiality and professionalismStrong organizational skills and skilled business acumenProficient with technology, especially Finalsite (Accounting), Google Apps, Microsoft Office, Little Green Light and FACTS (SIS)Experience in accounting and budgeting a plusAbility to work both independently and collaboratively with accuracy and attention to detailsDemonstrates resourcefulness and an ability to multitaskUnderstanding and genuine appreciation of children, parents, and familiesDesire to work in a racially and economically diverse and faith-based communityPreferred active Catholic and a member of a parishRole Responsibilities and Expectations:Maintain accurate records, including student and staff files.Assist with maintaining the school calendar and scheduling events.Assist with budgeting and financial planning, including monitoring expenses and revenues in coordination with the school principal and bookkeeper.Oversee the payment of school-related expenses, ensuring adequate approvals are in place, as well as manage general banking transactions.Manage payments coming into the school and take deposits to KeyBank weekly.Manage financial accounts for school and of enrolled families through Finalsite, other software and programs as needed. Ensure tuition billing is accurate, communication is timely with families regarding financial accounts, and pursue delinquent accounts as needed.Work with Advancement Director to ensure all fundraising and donations are adequately tracked and acknowledged AND to track and report all reported service hours from familiesCommunicate with and assist families with Fulcrum Tuition Assistance applications and STCA tuition assistance applications as needed.Assist school principal with the maintenance of employee records and assist with compliance of HR policiesResponsible for the school’s compliance with the Archdiocese Safe Environment program and facilitate related course trainings when needed.Model school core values for students and parents (Faith, Respect, Responsibility, Perseverance, and Compassion)Other duties as assigned by the principal.Proposed Schedule and Compensation DetailsReport Time: 30 hours/week (4 days, 8 hours/week); Benefit eligible if .75 or greater FTE agreed uponThis position comes with full benefits and a salary compensation based on experience ($31.00 – $36.00/hr range). Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
