He/she ensures the smooth running of the bar. He/she should also be skilled in serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to restaurant and bar patrons. He/she may serve beer and wine, make classic drinks or create new recipes for cocktails.Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the bar, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and cash handling.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the bar staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for guests, delivering exceptional customer service and addressing any concerns or complaints.
- Develop and update cocktail menus in collaboration with management, taking into account current trends, customer preferences, and seasonal ingredients.
- Train and educate the bar team on cocktail preparation techniques, product knowledge, and responsible alcohol service.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of alcoholic beverages and adherence to sanitation standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including equipment, glassware, and utensils.
- Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and manage stock to minimize wastage and optimize profitability.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends, new products, and techniques, and share knowledge with the team.
- Collaborate with the management team to plan and execute special events, promotions, and beverage-related initiatives.
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
Additional responsibilities and tasks can be added at any time according to the needs of the business and of the hotel.Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- To fill the position, the following is required:
- Previous experienced in similar job role or 5-10 years Mixology experience.
- English – good oral and written skills.
- Strong knowledge of beverages (cocktails, liquors, wine, etc…).
- Ability to work independently, thrive under pressure in challenging circumstances and come up with proactive, rational solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to establish and retain effective working relationships with hotel staff and clients/vendors.
- Ability to identify and delegate tasks effectively.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Applies a professional, confidential and ethical approach at all times.
- Works in a safe, prudent and organized manner.
