Job description: SummaryThe Software Engineering team is seeking a skilled and experienced Principal Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O Engineer to join our Property Tax and Administration System (PTAS) product team. You will help replace multiple systems that support the delivery of an integrated Assess-to-Collect (A2C) solution on the D365 platform and managing the processing of over $10 Billion annually.In this role, you will be involved in designing, developing, and maintaining critical, high impact software solutions in the Microsoft ecosystem. You will primarily develop and maintain solutions supporting the Department of Assessments and Treasury with tax collection in the F&O space. In addition to having opportunities to serve a variety of business functions across multiple departments and agencies, you will also provide thought leadership, standards, and best practices while serving as a technical development leader, advisor and mentor.This role requires a strong collaborative team player with extensive ERP skills and a great attitude with an abundance of curiosity. You should have demonstratable experience with Dynamics 365 F&O in addition to the Microsoft based technology stack (i.e: D365, Power Platforms, X++, C#, Azure DevOps, Azure Cloud, SQL Server, etc…). You will also have a passion for improving software quality, performance, and reliability, stay current on emerging technologies and value customer service and the small details.   • Responsible for full application lifecycle development including architecture, design, development, testing, configuration, and deployment of Dynamics 365 F&O applications.
  • Configure and administer Dynamics 365 F&O data management.
  • Support software integrations, data migrations, and/or data conversions involving Dynamics 365 F&O and CE while maintaining data integrity and governance in check.
  • Create and modify Dynamics 365 F&O and PowerBI reports.
  • Establish, apply, and maintain development best practices, design principles and design patterns to ensure that customization code quality is at the highest level possible.
  • Manage code repositories in Git and develop builds, pipelines, and releases in Azure DevOps.
  • Independently lead and manage own tasks and collaborate on projects and special assignments. Track time and update schedules according to KCIT business practices.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation for applications and systems, use code comments, wikis, source control, runbooks, and work/bug tracking software to ensure that other team members can review the code and provide additional support.
  • Partner and collaborate with multiple teams, product, and business stakeholders across the organization to design and develop solutions.
  • Participate in 24×7 after hours on call rotation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

  • 8+ years of enterprise experience working within the Microsoft development stack using multiple of the following technologies: Microsoft Visual Studio, X++, C#, Microsoft ASP.NET MVC, Microsoft ASP.NET WebAPI, .NET Core, Microsoft Entity Framework, AJAX, HTML, JavaScript, React / Angular frameworks and CSS.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated professional experience in the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) of Dynamics 365 F&O with proficiency in ETL methodologies.
  • 5+ years of experience in Logic Apps, Service Bus, Canvas App Configuration, Power Portals, Power Automate, and Power BI Reporting.
  • Skilled at Azure DevOps repositories, pipelines, Git and work item management.
  • Proven experience with automated regression testing using RSAT, Selenium, Easy Repro, or other test automation frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills; ability to synthesize complex information and influence decision makers turning strategy into action.
  • Excellent communications and collaboration skills, including ability to write, articulate, and present concise technical docs and ideas targeting business partners and other technologists.
  • An agile and DevOps mindset with a passion for software design and a talent for independently solving complex technical problems.
  • Proven ability to lead large and complex projects and take ownership of the technology and quality to deliver on schedule.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to high quality end to end services through quality-first culture.
  • Positive attitude towards peers and leadership, ability to learn from mistakes, and proactively seeks feedback.

  • Successful clearance of Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) background check is required for the selected candidate

Desirable Qualifications

  • Certifications in Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O, PowerApps, and Azure technologies.
  • Experience managing complex ERP implementations for state, federal, or local governments.
  • Prior domain experience in one or more of the following business areas: treasury, accounting, finance, taxes, assess to collect
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud integrations and Microsoft Azure – App Service, Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management, Functions
  • Experience in NoSQL and non-relational data storage designs and architecture
  • Prior experience in public sector and/or a desire to work in public service
