This position will be responsible for highly specialized audits across multiple programmatic areas of responsibility and will assist with the day to day functions of the Internal Audit program.While in official capacity, DOTD employees must comply with applicable Louisiana and Civil Service laws, rules, and regulations, as well as DOTD policies, procedures, manuals, and directives.30% Functions as the Assistant Internal Auditor for the Department of Transportation and Development. Performs specialized internal audits across multiple programmatic areas throughout the programs and Districts/Sections of the Department. These audits will follow specialized audit programs to derive an opinion that the programs or Districts/Sections are operating legally, efficiently and as desired by management.20% Create audit reports that explain the results of the internal audits to management and the administration of the Department. Performs follow up audits as determined. Assist with reporting to the Audit Review Committee (ARC) the results of completed audit and attends ARC quarterly meetings. When requested, assist Legislative Auditor with obtaining information.20% Perform highly complex, special projects involving multiple programmatic areas, Sections and/or Districts throughout the agency. These projects will require technical expertise of the Agency, Programs, Sections and Districts.20% Perform a risk assessment of the programs and Districts/Sections ofDOTD. These assessments will consist of questionnaires tailored to the programs and various areas of the Department. Evaluates the results of the risk assessment and assists the Chieflnternal Auditor in developing an audit plan that will address the areas of highest risk within DOTD.5% Participates in meetings, training sessions, and other administrative functions as needed to fulfill the duties of the position and explains the functions of the Internal Audit program.5% May be required to assist the Internal Auditor perform additional duties for the Secretary and Executive Counsel as necessary, including but not limited to emergency/disaster support activities.Louisiana State Government represents a wide variety of career options and offers an outstanding opportunity to make a difference through public service.
