Job Description
AECOM is seeking an exceptional B+P Business Line Delivery Optimization Leader to join our Enterprise Capabilities (EC) team. In this crucial and dynamic role, you will be at the forefront of transforming and accelerating the adoption of advanced design practices within the B+P Business Line. Your mission is to partner closely with the Enterprise Delivery Centers, B+P’s Global Digital Leader, and B+P’s Market Region/Sector Leadership to identify, prioritize, and implement innovative design tools and methodologies, reducing effort and enhancing the quality of our design outputs.
As the B+P Delivery Optimization Leader, you will be responsible for spearheading the development and evolution of our strategy to establish AECOM as a leader in digitally-optimized design within the water management sector. This will involve not only the growth and advancement of our design services but also overseeing all development and support operations of our EC delivery centers. Your role will be pivotal in providing operational direction, leading teams, and optimizing delivery methods to ensure the delivery of exceptional client results in alignment with AECOM’s global B+P and digital strategy.
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement to include both in-office and remote work schedules. This position can be based from any location where AECOM has an office, to include, but not limited to: Denver, CO / Columbus, OH / Chicago, IL / Austin, TX / Houston, TX / Phoenix, AZ /St. Louis, MO etc.
Team Leadership and Strategic Practice Development:
- Build, develop and lead a specialized team instilling a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Mentor team members, enhancing their skills and knowledge in design optimization technologies and solutions.
- Assess market trends and team capabilities to position AECOM at the forefront of the delivery optimization in the B+P engineering sector.
Project Management and Quality Oversight:
- Oversee technical delivery teams for internal projects to ensure projects adhere to scope, budget, and quality standards.
- Serve as the lead discipline authority or project manager on key delivery optimization projects.
- Implement and oversee QA/QC processes, ensuring the highest standards of quality in all deliverables, and document quality control measures and outcomes.
Communications, Documentation, and Strategic Alignment:
- Produce comprehensive documentation, including reports, technical memos, standards, plans, and specifications related to delivery optimization implementations.
- Develop and disseminate internal and external communications that align with AECOM’s broader EC, digital delivery optimization and B+P business line strategies.
- Understand the broader digital services offering and B+P business line strategies to develop messaging and marketing material that aligns with delivery optimization solutions.
Strategic Implementation of Advanced Design Practices:
- Collaborate with the B+P’s Global Digital Leader and Market Sector Leaders to identify and prioritize advanced design tools and practices.
- Develop strategies to integrate these tools into AECOM’s design processes, enhancing efficiency and quality.
Management and Execution of Design Tools:
- Establish and manage the implementation of selected design tools across the Water Business Line.
- Ensure consistent application of tools, standards, and workflows across Enterprise Critical projects.
Education and Standardization:
- Charter and lead initiatives to educate teams on the use of common tools and workflows.
- Develop and disseminate standard operating procedures and best practices for design optimization.
Collaboration and Leadership:
- Work closely with various teams, including digital, engineering, and project management, to ensure seamless integration of advanced design practices.
- Lead by example, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the B+P Business Line.
Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented design tools and practices.
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and innovation in design processes.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree + 10 years of relevant digital delivery services experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership.
- Proven experience as a leader in creating digital delivery services.
- Experience in client delivery, particularly complex digital programs, and projects.
- Experience in financial planning and budgeting.
- Experience in complex global environments.
- Ability to manage up and down, to influence and obtain results.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
- Outstanding organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent English skills (verbal and written).
- Work under pressure and prioritize effectively.
- Flexible with work times to align with colleagues in different time zones.
- Champion and drive ideas/programs/solutions.
Preferred Qualification:
- 15+ year’s professional experience, with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree.

- Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position typically is $120,000 – $150,000. Please note that this role can be located anywhere in the United States and compensation will vary in each location, including higher or lower than the range.
