- Supports development of Principal’s school-wide vision with a focus on virtual learning environments. This includes mobilizing teachers to achieve collective goals in an online setting and owning the implementation of priorities that support virtual learning.
- Provides leadership and coordination in the virtual instructional program.
- Establishes and maintains effective learning goals tailored to an online environment.
- Enforces guidelines and rules for student behavior and conduct in a virtual environment, with special attention to the online environment and interactions.
- Assist in supervising the virtual instructional process, including scheduling classroom visits, conducting online observations, and examining student records.
- Helps to plan, organize, and implement virtual school programs and activities.
- Coordinates the selection of materials, media, equipment, instructional strategies, and programs that are effective for virtual learning.
- Establishes and maintains positive school-community relationships in a virtual context.
- Helps with planning, organizing and implementing school programs and activities.
- Serves as the person in charge when the principal is away from the building.
- Supports the principal in identifying and developing emerging and teacher leaders through goal setting, coaching and providing feedback.
- Cultivates own growth, sustainability and success through active participation in district-wide professional development and by seeking out high-impact growth opportunities.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal or District staff.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSMaster’s Degree is required. Minimum of three (3) years of verifiable, successful experience as a teacher, academic coach or similar role.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional strategies for a virtual environment
- Demonstrated belief that all students, regardless of background, can achieve
- Demonstrated understanding of appropriate high-leverage instructional strategies
- Demonstrated investment in and understanding of appropriate application of social emotional strategies to promote the development of the whole child
- Ability to drive student achievement results through others
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with employees, students, parents, community groups and others required.
- Ability to develop teachers through providing helpful feedback and/or professional learning opportunities
- Ability to facilitate and ensure positive outcomes of teacher teams and/or professional learning communities
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and supervise school staff
- Technologically adept and literate
CERTIFICATION, LICENSE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to obtain clearance certificate from GaPSC.
- GaPSC certification in Education Leadership – Tier I at L-5 or higher or be eligible for a non-renewable Education Leadership while completing Education Leadership.
- Possess or be willing to obtain Online Teaching Endorsement
Salary/Terms/Benefits:
- 200 day work year.
- Salary based on certification and experience; placement on the Adopted Salary Schedule and position supplement(s).
