Uses free hand drawing skills or computer graphics programs. All designs must be tested and approved before finall print. Determines which type of machine better suits the project to provide the best results. Presents the designs to supervisor for further determination and approval. Researches sources, recommends, prepares, and coordinates material requirements and supplies needed.Operates various computer software and engraving machines. Responsible for installation and configuration of related computer hardware and software. Performs administrative duties associated with graphic designs for engraving. Maintains operational records and files for future references.Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.Maintains personal identification information lAW with prescribed regulations and ensures confidentiality and security of information. Handles sensitive information that is proprietary, privileged, confidential, or otherwise legally exempt from disclosure. Safeguards sensitive information and prevents unauthorized reading, printing, retaining, copying or dissemination of information, messages, or correspondence in accordance with rules and regulations such as those covered by the Privacy Act, 5 USC 552(a), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Public Law 104-191, and DoD Directive 6025.18. Notifies the higher level supervisor and senders immediately when personal identification information has been released and advises on how to properly recover, and/or protect information.Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. EVALUATIONS:QualificationsMust have one to two years¿ experience and/or related education that demonstrates knowledge of graphic design and layout. Knowledge of materials used in the engraving process. General working knowledge of various software programs for graphic arts/illustration. Position requires attention to detail, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
