Job description: Our client is looking for an EHS&S Specialist to help ensure that our workplace is safe, environmentally responsible, and compliant with all regulations. You’ll collaborate with different teams to maintain safety programs, minimize risks, and promote sustainability. - Stay Informed on Regulations: Keep up with local, state, and national health, safety, and environmental regulations to ensure we’re always in compliance.
- Maintain Safety Systems: Help manage our internal safety systems and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Conduct Safety Audits: Perform safety audits and inspections, ensuring that any issues are quickly addressed and resolved.
- Investigate Incidents: Look into incidents and near misses to determine causes and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Train Employees: Provide training and resources to employees on safety best practices, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work with internal departments and third-party contractors to maintain a strong safety culture.
- Analyze Data: Collect and analyze safety and sustainability data to spot trends, identify issues, and find areas for improvement.
- Waste Management: Track and manage waste disposal activities and contribute to our Zero Waste to Landfill initiative.
What You’ll Be Accountable For
- Ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
- Identifying and addressing safety risks before they become problems.
- Maintaining up-to-date safety records and ensuring corrective actions are promptly implemented.
- Collaborating with other departments to achieve EHS goals and maintain a safe work environment for everyone.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in an EHS role in an industrial setting.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
- Experience in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- EHS-related certifications (e.g., CHMM, ASP, CSP, CIH) are a plus.
- Experience with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) is beneficial.
- Familiarity with environmental permitting (e.g., Title V, NPDES, stormwater) is a plus.
Expected salary: $100000 per year
