To request a reasonable accommodation, notify Human Resources or the manager who oversees the position.Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, developers and other team members in the conceptualization and development of new or existing software applicationsDefine, develop, and document software objectives, deliverables, and specifications in collaboration with internal users and departmentsResearch, identify, analyze, and fulfill requirements of all internal and external users and stakeholdersIdentify need for and create software to enhance functionality and performance of company applicationsPerform software testing on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors and general debuggingEnsure software performs optimally through active monitoring for performance and usageParticipate in and may lead the definition of software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementationDeploy software through environments to production upon completion of development, testing, and documentationConduct code reviews based on team’s defined best practicesMentor software peers for engineering best practices and technical excellenceProvide and may lead product and software support for bugs, issues, and escalated incident tickets from end users to resolve application and software issuesPartner with other Engineers in resolving problems with software products or company software systemsResponsible for complex software aspects of your team or technical domain as a subject matter expert or owner of a service or functionalityRecommends new technologies, approaches, and best practices for their team or product wide adoptionAdditional FunctionsIn addition to the essential functions listed above, the incumbent may perform the following additional functions.Participate in regulatory and compliance activities.Required QualificationsBachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent work experience5+ years of software development experience required, with experience in all aspects of software development and product life cyclesExpertise in the Microsoft .NET tech stack, including but not limited to ASP.NET, C#, .NET Core, Entity Framework, and various front-end technologiesExperience with Microsoft Azure or equivalents (AWS, GCP, etc.)Proficient experience with cloud-hosted application design, deployment, and maintenanceExperience with containerization technologies, such as Docker and KubernetesExperience breaking up a monolithDemonstrated experience within numerous modern platforms, frameworks, and languagesKnowledge of all aspects of application development and product life cycles, including agile approachesExcellent understanding of software development and engineering best practicesFluency in object-oriented programming and designExtensive database and operating systems experienceAbility to conduct research into software-related issues and productsAbility to develop and maintain software products written in different languages and platformsKnowledge of programming for different delivery approaches such as on-premises, web, cloud, and mobilePreferred QualificationsExperience working in an agile development environmentExperience working on a large scale SaaS applicationCloud certifications (Azure DevOps Engineer Expert) Proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes, with hands-on experience in deploying, managing, and scaling containerized applications in cloudExperience with Event-Based API PatternsFamiliarity with Azure DevOps and ServiceNow and project tracking systemsExperience with AngularStrong understanding of the organization’s goals and objectivesWorking EnvironmentOffice environment – either in Patterson facility or at home/remote locationPatterson Dental is committed to supporting a robust remote work culture, with well-established virtual collaboration practices and equal opportunities for career advancement and professional growth, regardless of physical locationAbility to be work remote and be on camera as neededTravel to corporate sites is periodically required (Quarterly or so)Periodic on call rotations and available outside of normal business hours on evenings and weekends during critical production release or issue escalation periodsThis role is eligible for hire in any of the following States: AK, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, HI, ID, IL, KS, KY, ME, MA, MI, MN, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, NY, OR, RI, SD, TX, UT, VT, WA, WV, WIThe potential compensation range for this role is below.
