Job description: Conduct airfield inspections to identify, assess, and mitigate hazardous conditions; inspect the condition of airfield lighting, pavement, and markings. Coordinate airport security badging program. Manage airport noise program and generate monthly noise reports.Provide customer service support at the Customs and Border Protection User Fee Facility.In the event of a natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.(Note: The listed duties are illustrative only and are not intended to describe each and every function, which may be performed in the job class. The omission of specific statements does not preclude management from assigning specific duties not listed herein if such duties are a logical assignment to the position.)Inspects airfield, safety zones, clear zones, approach zones, perimeter fence line and airport grounds for compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, Transportation Security Administration Regulations, Airport Rules & Regulations, Airport Minimum Standards, leases, and agreements.Coordinates all non-routine airfield activity (i.e., opening and closing runways and taxiways; static displays; dignitary arrivals and departures; construction projects; escorts).Identifies and determines general nature and extent of problems.Assesses problem urgency and determines priorities in order to relay information on a timely basis.Responds to emergency incidents, protecting airport interests until supervisory personnel arrive.Coordinates emergency response to minor incidents, or anticipated events related to weather.Subject to emergency on-call as part of routine duties.Coordinates the Airport Badging Program and issues airport security identification badges.Investigates accidents and incidents and writes reports about them. Recommends policy changes to correct reoccurring problems.Receives and responds to complaints and inquiries; receive, log, and answer (when applicable) noise complaints.Monitors/maintains compliance with the ASP (Airport Security Program), ACM (Airport Certification Manual), and the AEP (Airport Emergency Plan).Participates in the development, implementation, and improvements to airport sponsored occupational safety and health committees, OSHA regulatory programs, driver training programs, and any other related committees designed for improvement.Compile monthly reports showing noise complaints and locations.Execute different tasks to assist the Airport Noise Advisory Committee (ANAC) committee in achieving their annual goals.Assist in organizing and modifying the ANAC Annual Report.Prepare reports for curfew violations, total airport operations, and other airport trends.Enforce applicable Airport Security Regulations.Responsible for project coordination and makes recommendations for Airport Security Capital Projects Program.Conducts Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) training and issues NOTAMs for airfield conditions when appropriate.Perform wildlife control.Escort vendors and deliveries on the airfield.Process fee payment transactions at the Customs and Border Protection User Fee Facility, handle and disposes of United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Regulated Garbage and maintain an inventory of required supplies for the facility.Present a positive and professional image in extensive dealings with the public and staff.Act as liaison for the airport to the public, airport tenants, and airport operators.Perform other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:(Note: The knowledge, skills, and abilities identified in this class specification represent those needed to perform the duties of this class.
