- Post-secondary education, or current enrollment in a teacher education program (preferred)
- Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed
REPORTS TO: WIN Academy PrincipalPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Prepares for classroom activities under supervision of the teacher
- Works with small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher
- Assists individual students in need of special attention
- Performs clerical duties
- Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up by teacher
- Sets up audiovisual equipment
- Assists teacher with non-instructional classroom duties
- Checks notebooks, corrects papers, and supervises testing and make-up work
- Assists in drill work
- Assists with reading and storytelling
- Assists small groups of students in the library and computer lab
- Participates in in-service training programs, as applicable
- Assists with student attendance
- Assists in the administration of student check-ins and check-outs
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Assumes responsibility for acting as a representative of the Sheffield City Board of Education in the solution of problems which might affect his/her specific assignment
- Assumes responsibility to perform any work which is assigned by the Superintendent of Schools and/or his/her representative, including the immediate supervisor
SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: $18.00 per hour/up to 12 hours per week.
