Job description: The Therapy Place, Inc.The Therapy Place provide services for children with diagnoses such as autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, developmental delays, rare syndromes, and genetic disorders. These children are in need are in need of professional therapeutic and educational interventions to maximize their skills and reach many developmental milestones that may come naturally for other children. Children receive interventions catered to their goals and individual challenges. At The Therapy Place, children can receive these services through outpatient therapies, family support services, and Bridges, our therapeutic preschool and k-5th grade school.Bridges is an innovative and holistic therapeutic approach combining physical, occupational, and speech therapy techniques with special education methods to help children with developmental delays gain independence through improved mobility, social skills, and daily living skills. It is our goal to prepare each child for educational success and school readiness.Bridges is a year-round program, Monday-Friday with full-time and part-time options. Children receive needed therapies during the Bridges day. We provide a daily routine with play-based learning centers including gross/fine motor, art, music, literacy, speech, sensory, and cognitive development.Job DescriptionBridges aides are part-time (up to 30 hours a week) paid employees and are critical team members to the Bridges program. Aides are supervised by the Bridges Director/Teachers. Aides work closely with teachers and therapists to ensure consistency in the classroom. Their duties include running centers, assisting at meal times and during group activities, supervising on the playground, helping with transitions, and light housekeeping (i.e., dishwasher, laundry, etc.). Aides are first and foremost responsible for the safety of every child and the child’s progress towards independence and therapeutic goals.Pay ScaleAll classroom aides will start with a base pay of $13 an hour. Aides that work more than 25 hours a week will be qualify for a quarterly pay increase. Those that qualify will receive a 50 cent raise every 3 months. The maximum hourly rate for a classroom aide is $15 an hour.Lead AideLead aides are appointed by Bridges leadership as deemed necessary. Lead aide job duties include lead transitions, circle, story, and journal in the absence of lead teachers, supervise aides and classroom in the absence of lead teachers, and assist in classroom behavior management. Lead aides will be paid $16 an hour.
Expected salary: $13 – 16 per hour
