Job description: Job Description:Apt Resources is seeking a Marine Watersports Supervisor to oversee marine operations at a prestigious royal palace in Abu Dhabi. In this key role, you will be responsible for managing marine sports activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and maintaining the highest standards of service for guests and events.   • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards for marine operations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and drills.
  • Verify that all marine sports equipment, fishing gear, and safety equipment are ready for operation.
  • Check weather conditions, ocean status, and location before commencing operations to ensure staff and guest safety.

2. Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and manage marine crew members, providing guidance, training, and support for effective performance.
  • Prepare and submit the monthly duty roster for marine staff to the Head of Department (HOD) for approval.

3. Operational Oversight:

  • Oversee daily marine operations, including navigation, loading/unloading of items, staff, and guests, as well as maintenance of boats and marine sports equipment.

4. Compliance and Regulation:

  • Ensure adherence to Abu Dhabi maritime laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Stay updated on changes in Abu Dhabi maritime legislation.
  • Monitor the expiration dates of boats and jet skis’ licenses and insurance.
  • Track the expiration dates of marine staff boat licenses.
  • Prepare and submit requests for renewing licenses and mukhiya at least 30 days before expiration.

5. Communication:

  • Act as a liaison between marine staff, management, and other departments.
  • Facilitate clear communication regarding operational matters.

6. Incident Management:

  • Respond to emergencies and incidents, conducting investigations and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Prepare incident reports and submit them to the HOD.

7. Maintenance Coordination:

  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs for boats, jet skis, inflatables, and fishing equipment to ensure operational readiness and safety.
  • Ensure the marine warehouse is clean, both inside and out.
  • Prepare work requests for boats, jet skis, and inflatables needing repair, as well as for upcoming marine operations.

8. Environmental Compliance:

  • Monitor and enforce environmental policies related to waste disposal, emissions, and pollution prevention during operations.

9. Training and Development:

  • Identify training needs for staff members and facilitate training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Transportation, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Relevant work experience in marine operations or management, often requiring several years in a supervisory role.
  • Certifications in marine safety, such as STCW (Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping).
  • Additional certifications relevant to specific marine operations like jet ski operation license, boat license, ect.
  • Strong understanding of marine systems, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in maritime regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills to effectively supervise and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with crew members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively, often in high-pressure environments.
  • Willingness to work in varying conditions and adapt to changes in schedules or operational needs.
  • Strong commitment to safety practices and promoting a culture of safety within the team.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and technology used in marine operations and management.
  • Experience in yacht management and vessel maintenance.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Must currently reside in the UAE.

Benefits:The salary is AED 10,000 – 15,000 plus accommodation, food, toiletries, and other benefits as per UAE labor law.

Expected salary: 10000 – 15000 per month
