Job description: Responsibilities1.Site responsible person for all Raw Material, Indirect Material and CAPEX procurement activities, acting as first point of contact for all Procurement related queries on-site.
2.Data-Driven Raw Materials Management: stay up to date with market intelligence, develop negotiation tactics and build strategy for various Raw Material categories, ensuring best balance between cost, supply security, and other considerations.
3.Negotiations & Price Renewal: Perform periodic negotiations and price renewal for Raw Materials to secure favorable terms, achieve cost savings, and improve overall profitability.
4.Raw Material Sourcing: Support business needs by sourcing new Raw Materials and selecting suppliers, considering factors such as quality, cost optimization, lead times, supply chain reliability, sustainability, and product innovation.
5.Indirect Materials & CAPEX: Perform sourcing and RFx activities, including supplier selection and justification based on business requirements, and company’s internal policies. Support functional departments to draft specifications before commencing sourcing.
6.Quality Assurance & Compliance: Collaborate closely with quality control and assurance teams to maintain strict quality standards for raw materials and finished products. Ensure compliance of materials with industry-specific regulations and safety standards.
7.Analyze/update market trends (top materials on site) for updating of Global reports, and work with local functions – technical, operations and sales – to identify, track and drive cost-saving opportunities.
8.Budget Management: Develop and manage the procurement budget, tracking expenses and identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
9.Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage procurement contracts and agreements, including terms and conditions for the supply of raw materials.
10.Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers, ensuring long-term supplier performance and benefits for local unit. Develop and maintain a reliable supplier base.
11.Uphold Procurement Guidelines at local site to ensure compliance in all procurement related activities, including adherence to company values, company’s Code of Conduct, business ethics policy, and governance.
12.Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor procurement staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
13.Risk Management: Assess and mitigate procurement-related risks, including supply chain disruptions and fluctuations in material prices.
14.Master Data Management: Update data in central database (Dynamics AX) and other databases on time, and with maximum accuracy.
15.Capitalize or create synergies via process harmonization with local, regional, and global procurement teams.Job Related Competencies & Specifications
1.Bachelor’s degree as minimum, preferably in business, supply chain management, chemistry, or a related field. A master’s degree or above would be advantageous.
2.Proven experience, minimum 7 – 10 years in procurement or supply chain management within the paint or chemical industry.
3.Knowledge of paint industry-specific raw materials, chemicals, and suppliers would be advantageous.
4.Experience in Direct, Indirect Materials and CAPEX procurement is essential.
5.Commercially driven, understands the relationship between procurement and business outcomes.
6.Familiarity with industry regulations, safety standards, and chemical handling protocols.
7.Organized, data-driven, with strong negotiation and communication skills. Analytical, with problem-solving abilities.
8.Fluent English communication skills both written and oral.
9.Experience with Procurement/Purchasing ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics AX) or other software is an advantage.
