Job description: Our client, a world leading home appliance manufacturer, is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join their team. As a Structural Design Engineer, you will play an essential role in the R&D of various gas and electric large cooking appliances. The ideal candidate will be an innovative thinker and team-player with a strong design background in the small appliance industry.
Job Title: Structural Design Engineer
Location: Louisville, KY
What’s the Job?
- Lead and develop innovative mechanical and structural systems for gas and electric home cooking appliances, including but not limited to Ranges, Wall Ovens, and Combination Ovens.
- Use Lean, Six Sigma, and Reliability methodologies to ensure robust and qualified designs.
- Improve design using FEA for Structural, Packaging, and Thermal Conditions.
- Conduct laboratory testing to confirm the design and performance of products.
- Good experience with complex parts 3D modeling and GPLM- database administration.
What’s Needed?
- 3-5 years of proven experience in structural design for gas and/or electric cooking appliances.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Good understanding of regulatory and agency requirements for gas and electric appliances.
- Experience in product packing design and shipping protocols.
- Thorough understanding of product and component reliability needs and development of testing plans.
