The Opportunity

Our location in Lake County, IL, currently has an opportunity for a Manager Financial Planning and Analysis – Supply Chain.

Responsible for financial planning, reporting and analysis to support Abbott Nutrition Supply Chain. Reports to Assistant Controller ANSC and is responsible for managing key deliverables spanning across the organization. Leads the consolidation of Actuals, LBE, OEM forecast for Total ANSC Balance Sheet. Responsible for Budget oversight for Abbott Nutrition (AN) Division Quality organization. Supports the preparation of executive presentations, executive reporting, and strategic analysis. Provides direct support to a Divisional Vice President (DVP) of AN’s Quality assurance and direct staff. This role manages one direct report.

The Opportunity

Key finance leadership position within Abbott Nutrition Supply Chain reporting to Assistant Controller with the following key responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate all aspects of the financial planning process for Total Nutrition Supply Chain Balance sheet/cash flow. Including but not limited to:
  • Actuals reporting with enhanced focus on Inventory and payables analytics, coordinating Monthly Management Package, Quarterly LBEs and Annual OEM.
  • Perform financial analysis, as directed by management, and develop alternative course of action by utilizing appropriate financial tools.
  • Serve as subject matter expert and develop system solutions and process enhancements to improve ANSC Cashflow forecasting accuracy and insights to variances versus targets.
  • Prepare and support executive leadership presentations.
  • Support ANSC Division QA budgets +$70MM of spend. And $14MM of Division QA capital related spend.
  • Provide financial leadership, business expertise and guidance to VP of Global AN Quality and her respective staff with a particular focus on supporting AN’s Cost of Quality Initiatives.
  • Serves as a dedicated financial support to DVP AN Quality and their direct staff (+4 Directors, 3 DVPs)
  • Liaison for various ad-hoc requests between AN Commercial, Operations and Plant finance personnel.
  • Leads various process improvements and simplification initiatives across the Supply Chain Organization.
  • Various Ad hoc financial analysis and preparation of presentations for DVP of Supply Chain Division President.
  • Provide leadership, direction, guidance, and development to Finance supervisor. Maintain finance organization capable of meeting Division and Corporate requirements.
  • The ANSC Finance manager is the key contact for AN HQ team, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of all financial planning and analysis requirements at the consolidation level as it pertains to Balance Sheet/Cash flow.
  • This role requires effective interaction with multiple Nutrition business units and senior leaders.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Ensure integrity of financials; maintain sound internal controls.
  • Effectively present financial and non-financial information to division and corporate leadership.
  • Manage the content, process, and timing of the quarterly rolling LBE and annual OEM including preparation of review presentations and required corporate/Division templates.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in formation, evaluation, and assessment of financial planning deliverables and processes. Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
  • Lead and develop a team of one by effectively prioritizing and delegating to ensure timely completion of deliverables. Provide coaching and career development opportunities to direct reports.
  • Provide financial and strategic insight to Senior Management on key business decisions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience in accounting, financial planning and analysis, and/or financial auditing CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • 7-12 years of financial experience with a focus on financial planning and analysis
  • Demonstrated initiative, analytical thinking, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of the principles, processes and standards for integrated financial analysis and reporting.
  • Highly proficient in Excel and power point.
  • Ability to communicate with others concisely and accurately.
  • Ability to interact with finance and non-finance professionals at all levels.
  • Ability to operate independently with broad scope of responsibility under minimal supervision and under challenging time constraints.
  • Ability or aptitude to apply in-depth knowledge of financial processes, accounting methodologies and division-specific operations.
  • Ability to facilitate interpretation and understanding of data, identify risks, develop recommendations, and implement solutions.
  • Ability or aptitude to utilize computer software applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) to complete tasks.
  • Ability or aptitude to manage cross functional projects and work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred:

  • Strengths in strategic planning, execution of those plans and cross-functional project management
  • Prior experience with Balance sheet and leading cash flow improvement efforts
  • Prior Supply Chain or Manufacturing Plant experience
  • Multi geographical experience also preferred along with large site experiences.
  • Advanced communication and leadership skills required.
  • Ability to balance between the strategic perspective and proper attention to detail when a hands-on approach is required.
  • Wide ranging financial experience, including planning, reporting, and controls.
  • Experience with HFM, SAP, Essbase and Host a plus.

The base pay for this position is $95,000.00 – $190,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
