Our client who operates in the retail and logistics space, is seeking to employ a experienced Management Accountant / Accountant, based in Port Elizabeth.
This person will be 2IC to the financial manager.
Salary: R30k to R35k CTC

Requirements:
- More than 3 years of general accounting experience, either in a public accounting firm or in a private corporate environment.
- Retail and FMCG experience desired not mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, math, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- Staff management experience.
- Great interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter.
- Commercial experience ideal.
- Highly detail-oriented and organized.
- Ability to meet constant stream of deadlines.
- Familiarity with accounting software and programs.
Responsibilities and expectations but not limited to:
- Fixed Asset Management.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
- Salary Control Account Reconciliations.
- Intercompany Loan balancing.
- Interbranch Transfers balancing.
- Management Account preparation and review of smaller entity accounts before submission for final review by FM.
- Ensure the accuracy of accounts payable reports, maintain accurate back-up documents, and guarantees that all unpaid invoices are processed for an organization within the agreed terms.
- Analyse complex financial reports and records.
- Review journal entries of junior accountants to ensure accuracy.
- Train and mentor junior staff.
- Perform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliations.
- Prepare financial reports.
- Assist FM with forecasting reports.
