This is a Fixed Term Full Time appointment until 1st March 2028 at 76 hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
Position Profile: As the Senior Exercise Physiologist, you will plan, implement, and evaluate Exercise Physiology (EP) services delivered as part of Move to Improve. This will be achieved by leveraging advanced EP clinical skills, ensuring strict adherence to all relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and established professional standards.
About the Service:
Move to Improve is a new service based at Perth Children’s Hospital that supports children and adolescents with chronic conditions such as cancer, type 1 diabetes, cerebral palsy and burns related injuries to increase their participation in physical activity.
By integrating physical activity into clinical care at Perth Children’s Hospital under a research framework, Move to Improve aims to address the barriers faced by children with chronic conditions and their families, and provide them with accessible, evidence-based and sustainable opportunities to increase physical activity and improve their health and wellbeing.
Move to Improve has been developed by consumers, researchers and health professionals, and will be delivered by a multi-disciplinary team, including exercise physiologists, dietitians, physiotherapists and psychologists who will assist children and adolescents to develop and achieve their own personal physical activity goals.
This 5 year research project has been made possible through funding from the Stan Perron Charitable Foundation and Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation, with support from Principal Partner Mineral Resources Limited via Channel 7 Telethon Trust, Amazon, Globe BD and the WA community.
