Why Your Role Matters:

As the Project Manager, you will work within the Surveillance and Evaluation Research Program (SERP) to (1) manage a new Centre for Research Excellence (CRE) in the Economics of Infectious Diseases and (2) to support an established CRE in the implementation of point of care testing for infectious disease. The Centre for Research Excellence Manager is a critical role within SERP, responsible for financial administration and research management. You will oversee the administrative support function for the Centre to enable its scientific mission and support the lead investigators to deliver on the Centre’s strategic research objectives, ensuring the delivery of operational efficiency and financial sustainability. You will liaise with several key internal and external stakeholders and work closely with the SERP administration team.

The role reports to Group Head of Health Economics and Health Systems and has no direct reports.

Who You Are:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in infectious disease intervention research with an understanding of the approach, skills and personal attributes required.
  • Proven project management experience at a minimum of 5 years, with an in-depth understanding of the project life cycle and strategic development of project plans, objectives, and documentation.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
  • Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.
  • Demonstrated data analysis skills with proven experience in preparing statistical data for publication including experience using STATA or other statistical analysis programs.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
